Roomba smart vacuums are now IFTTT compliant

IFTTT Recipes for Roomba

Smart vacuum cleaners from the iRobot company are among the most popular on the market. The Roomba are small vacuum cleaners that walk around your home leaving the floor unpolluted with dust or any other dirt. Since 2015, these vacuum cleaners have a WiFi connection, but it has not been until now that this feature has been particularly important. Why? Because will now be IFTTT compliant.

IFTTT is a web service that allows you to create small actions - better known as recipes - that will help automate more than one daily task. These recipes are used, above all, in the field of productivity. And it is certainly that by automating more than one action, you gain in time available to carry out other tasks. Well then, from now on the Roomba will also be compatible with this web service and there are already up to a total of 11 recipes that you can use with your smart vacuum cleaner.

iRobot Roomba compatible with IFTTT

More automated actions are promised over the weeks, but among the actions that you can now carry out with your Roomba and the IFTTT service there are the following tasks:

  • Post a tweet when Roomba has finished cleaning
  • Start cleaning through a Twitter order
  • When the Roomba finishes cleaning, post a post on Facebook
  • When Roomba finishes cleaning let music play in Android Music
  • When Roomba is done cleaning make the Hue smart bulbs blink
  • Start cleaning before a calendar event
  • When I get home have the Roomba stop
  • When I leave home, let a cleaning session begin
  • When you answer a call make Roomba pause
  • Notify me by email when iRobot publishes new IFTTT recipes
  • Notify me by email when iRobot releases improvements for the Roomba

These are the actions that you can now enjoy if you have an iRobot model that connects to the internet through WiFi. But, as you can see, iRobot is thinking of releasing more recipes in the near future. What would be your ideal recipe for the Roomba?
