Facebook Stories, about to reach the web version

For a few months, most Internet connections have been made from mobile devices, leaving computers for primarily work-related tasks. The rise of smartphones with larger screens, together with that of tablets, allows users to connect from anywhere to the Internet to upload a photo to Instagram, post a tweet, send an email ...

Facebook Stories, another function that has been dedicated to blatantly copying Snapchat, is available only in mobile applications, but according to TechCrunch, it could be about to lead to the web version, where it is currently in the testing phase. We don't know if it will finally come or not, but the post has confirmed with the company that tests are underway to see if the integration is feasible or not.

As we can see in the image that heads this article, the Stories would be located in the upper right corner of the screen, where Facebook usually reminds us of future birthdays and events. When clicking on a Story, the background of the screen goes dark and the user's story is displayed.

Considering that Facebook Stories are not having the same success that they have obtained with the Instagram application, this movement seems oriented to try to encourage the use of this option among users, something that I doubt they will achieve if the majority of connections to Facebook are made from mobile devices and so far they have not managed to win the interest of users.

A few days ago, Instagram announced that thanks to the implementation of Stories, the time that users spend in the application had increased, which means attracting the interest of new advertisers to the platform, which will have an impact on the income obtained by the company.
