The mythical watch brand Casio is trying to adapt to the new market needs. For a few years, the company has offered different models of smartwatches aimed at the public that needs devices that are resistant to the maximum, although their functionality is affected. But it is not the only foray of the company in this field, since the Japanese firm will present on October 27 a new action camera called Casio GZE-1, a camera that reminds us a lot of part of Iron Man's armor and that is designed to offer maximum resistance to both blows and weather conditions.
In addition, the company's most loyal customers will be able to see a more than reasonable resemblance to the range of sports watches from the Japanese company G-SHOCK. The new GZE-1 follows the G-SHOCK product line offering a very similar design and robustness. Dispose of IP6X dust and IPX8 water protection, allowing it to withstand drops from up to 4 meters high, immersion depths of up to 50 meters, and temperatures of up to 10 degrees below zero.
The GZE-1's camera has a 6,9 megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens that allows us to Record 170,4-degree fixed focal video in Full HD. If, on the other hand, we want to take pictures, the angle of view is extended to 190,8 degrees. It has a stabilizer, we do not yet know if it will be optical or digital, and an option that allows us to record in slow motion to enjoy the action in great detail.
Like its predecessor, the GZE-1 has a Wi-Fi connection to communicate with devices managed with Android or iOS to view both the photos and videos that we have captured. If we also have one of the WSD F20 or WSD F10 smartwatches models, we will be able to access recorded content without using our smartphone. On October 27, Casio will officially present this new camera and will offer all the specifications of this new sports camera model.
