Tim Cook encourages his employees with an email

Tim Cook

Almost a month ago, Tim Cook presided over a room in Cupertino to present his new range of iPhones: the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. In addition, this "meeting" confirmed the official date on which Apple would officially release its new mobile operating system: iOS 7 (and it has been a success). Just after Tim Cook finished his keynote, he sent a letter to all the workers who work in any department in the Big Apple: Retail, Apple Care, Engineers ... In that letter he congratulated them on their enormous work at Apple during the previous months and all the effort they were using to boost Apple's sales. Just today, the same employees of the Big Apple have received an email with a huge surprise: They offer them 3 more days of Thanksgiving vacation.

Dear team:

It has been an exciting summer. For the first time, we have launched two new product lines for the iPhone. iOS 7 was created from a deep collaboration between our design and engineering teams, bringing our customers an impressive new user interface and new features. Introducing OS X Mavericks and the most powerful Mac ever made. The App Store celebrates a new milestone - 50 billion downloads. And we continue to express our love of music with iTunes Radio and the iTunes Festival.

I had the opportunity to visit some of our stores during the iPhone launch. There is no better place to see and feel why Apple is special. The best products of the land. Energy. Enthusiasm. The best clients from all over the world. Passionate team members focused on enriching people's lives. Innovative products that serve humanity's deepest values and highest aspirations.

And I am proud to say that Apple is also a force for good in the world beyond our products. Whether it is improving working conditions or the environment, defending human rights, helping to eliminate AIDS, or reinventing education, Apple is making an important contribution to society.

None of this would have been possible without you. Our most important resource is not money, intellectual property, or any capital asset. Our most important resource is - the soul - our people.

I realize that many of you worked tirelessly to bring us here. I know it requires great personal sacrifice.

In recognition of your incredible efforts and accomplishments, I am happy to announce that we are extending the Thanksgiving holiday this year. We will close on November 25, 26 and 27 so that our teams can have the entire week off. Retail, AppleCare and some other teams will have to work that week so that we can continue to serve our customers. But they will receive the same number of days off at an alternate time. Please check with your administrator for more information. Our international teams will schedule vacation days at a time that is most suitable for your specific country.

I hope the extra time is rest and relaxation. You deserve it. Details will be available on AppleWeb soon.

I am extremely proud of all of you. I am in awe of what you have accomplished and couldn't be more excited for the future. Enjoy the time out!

Tim

As you have seen, the email that Tim Cook has written highlights some things that are worth mentioning:

  1. Thanksgiving: They are offered 3 more days of vacation in the week of Thanksgiving which means being off work that week. Except those of Retail and Apple Care that will have them later.
  2. They all make up Apple: Tim Cook also emphasizes how to create Apple. Although it was born to a couple of men, they all form Apple, that is, employees have a lot to do with the creation of Apple.
