We analyze the Uhans A101S, the improved version of a classic "low cost"

Uhans A101S design

The design is perhaps one of the things that already caught our attention in the previous edition, despite being a device composed entirely of polycarbonate, the firmness of the materials surprised us in the previous analysis. On this occasion, the Uhans guys have not failed, they have continued to apply the same formula, taking advantage of a new range of colors that will be more striking, and it is that the State Gray and Silver that they offered in the classic version, the Uhans A101S adopts two new colors, a Champagne Gold version and a Quartz Pink version, which will not leave anyone indifferent. In fact, the pink version is the one we have been able to test, and we have observed how its bezels perfectly imitate aluminum.

The back is still made of a polymer that grips the hand well, on the other hand, it solves its possibly excessive thickness with curvatures on the back that remind us of Samsung and that adapt it very well to the contour of our hands. On the front you will have a 2.5D glass, under the Gorilla Glass brand, which assures us a resistance to impacts that gave it a deserved fame in its previous edition.

The performance of this device

As we have said before, this is an improved version of the previous Uhans A101, so at a minimum, we asked for an increase in RAM, which perhaps it was missing. And so it has been, this new Uhans A101S has 2GB of RAM, accompanied by a processor MediaTek MT6580 mid-range, so it runs Android 6.0 fluently, it is true that perhaps you will have difficulties to run the latest games, but we must never forget that we are facing a terminal at a fairly moderate price. In the graphic section we have a Mali400 GPU medium yield.

The ROM has also been expanded, up to 16GB, another aspect quite necessary, since the 8GB of the classic Uhans A101 could fall short. Likewise, we can expand it up to 64GB through the microSD card.

Screen and camera

But not everything remains here, and the camera becomes an 8MP Sony sensor, capable of capturing more and better light, the sensor is the Sony IMX219 CMOS, with a real 8MP output and 13MP digitized. For the front camera we have a much more modern 2MP sensor.

However, we are going for the first weak point of this Uhans A101S, and that is that it has a battery of 2.540 mAh, that although they are not few, to push that screen of 5 inches, IPS and with HD resolution, it would not have been bad at least 300 mAh more. That it is an off-road phone, we will not find in it any kind of boast, fingerprint sensor or other type of details.
