Use the backspace key again in Chrome with this extension

go-back-with-backspace

Practically since its launch, Chrome has always suffered or enjoyed, depending on how you look at it, a hidden option on the keyboard that allows us to return to the previous page by pressing the backspace key. This option is useful for many users but a real nightmare for many others who saw how all the progress that they had done filling out a form was lost when pressing the delete key without knowing or remembering at that moment, that the function in Chrome is not assigned to that native Windows function but to the backspace key. A few months ago, Chrome announced that its next update would remove that damn feature. No sooner said than done. The last update already allows us to use the backspace key to delete and not to return to the previous page.

Google proceeded to eliminate because there were many people who were unhappy with the use of the browser by losing the progress they made filling out forms when they made a mistake and pressed the delete key. A stupid reason considering how many years that feature has been in Chrome and as if they had now realized the problem that it posed for many users. But not all users are disgusted with the function of that key. For all of them, we have the Go Back With Backspace extension, Google's own extension.

Go Back With Backspace allows us to reuse the backspace key to return to the previous page. But unlike the option that was installed natively. Go Back With Backspace we can establish specific situations such as when we are writing text or while we navigate through the browser settings. But if you don't want to use this extension, you can use the Alt key + arrow keys to go back to the page before the one you just visited. A combination of keys that is not as practical as the Backspace key but that will save us from having to install this extension if we are not users of them.
