Just when augmented reality seemed to be starting to take off, many were the companies that showed large projects in virtual reality, which made a large part of the public turn their gaze towards this technology, making it possible that, despite the fact that there are still companies working on their development, augmented reality take a backseat, which in the end entails fewer resources and much fewer teams working on this type of technology.

Even so, and despite the fact that companies like Google seem to have lost their interest in augmented reality, there are many very interesting projects underway, some of them as mature as the Vuzix Blade 3000, a kind of smart sunglasses where their creators have managed to combine all the potential that augmented reality has today in a single device. Going into a little more detail, as the creators of the Vuzix Blade 3000 comment, we are talking about a device capable of showing the user a Virtual HUD about the real world with information extracted from the mobile phone to which they are paired. As you will surely be guessing, these sunglasses provide functionality similar to that of a smart watch, so that any user who wears them does not have to remove the phone from their pocket to perform a series of actions.

In order for the Vuzix Blade 3000 to move, use is made of a motor known by the name of Cobra II and a proprietary optical technology that allows to show all the information of the phone about the real world. Like other concepts presented previously, the Vuzix Blade 3000 have been equipped with a high definition camera, sensors to track the movement of our head or a touch pad to move through certain menus.
