Watch Dogs analysis

Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs It was one of the star titles and great surprises of the E3 just two years ago. That new adventure of Ubisoft It caught the attention of locals and strangers thanks to a hype trailer and a presentation by those responsible for the title, where they showed the benefits of what would undoubtedly be the next bomb of the gala publisher.

Initially, Watch Dogs It should have hit stores at the end of 2013, but the fact that it will coincide in the near future with other games, such as Assassin's creed iv -also of your own Ubisoft- or the terribly successful Grand Theft Auto V de Rockstar, in addition to some necessary tweaks to the graphics engine and gameplay, made the promising Watch Dogs it will be delayed until the end of this month. The waiting was worth it? We tell you about it in our analysis.

En Watch Dogs we assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a character that could not be said to fit within the exemplary hero costume, rather it is a gray shade, right between white and black. Aiden has a haunted past marked by the loss of his family and only seeks revenge by attacking the powerful and corrupt in the city. With this difficult task of justice, the plot unfolds over five acts where we will meet different characters, overcome secondary tasks and perform other activities at our free will.

Watch Dogs

We will be able to visit different districts of the city of a thousand and one cameras, where we will leave bullet marks on the walls, we will walk through its streets as a taxi driver or we will run out of breath in the chases. But not everything is unbridled action in Watch Dogs: thoughtful games of chess or playing the best hand of poker will also be some of the activities with which we can enjoy our time in the shoes of Aiden. All this will end up having an impact on our skill tree, divided into four branches, which we can complete by unlocking improvements through the experience points that we have acquired.

Watch Dogs

As we well saw in those promising trailers prepared to the millimeter, the basic tool with which Aiden will unfold in the game will be your next generation mobile phone. All the city's systems are interconnected, something that will work in favor of our vigilante, who will know how to take advantage of his abilities as a hacker: carrying out sabotage, controlling traffic, hacking ATMs or disabling sophisticated cyber security systems will be a piece of cake. Of course, if you have to use brute force, have no doubts about the melee skills and the handling of firearms on the part of Aiden. As for the playable experience itself, Watch Dogs follows the traditional scheme of sandbox- Main missions throughout which the plot unfolds, side quests for more skill points and other activities that add a little more life to the duration of the program. Perhaps something more variety is missing, and above all, intensity: the shadow of Grand Theft Auto V it is still very long.

Watch Dogs

Something that, unfortunately, usually happens with the first trailers and presentations of the news of Ubisoft it is that what is shown in those initial staging does not usually agree with what finally reaches our hands. Watch Dogsis certainly no exception. If you expect to find the graphic level of those demos or videos, I assure you that you can forget to see such quality even in PC o next generation consoles -in these neither reach 60 fps-, while the versions of PlayStation 3 y Xbox 360 They are the most resentful and do not reach the well optimized GTA V. Curiously, the game hides its deficiencies better at night than in the daytime hours, where there is a striking and annoying luminosity permeating everything.

Watch Dogs

Watch DogsIn addition to the story mode, it also has a multiplayer that can extend the life of the program somewhat, although not with too much fervor. We have many modes already seen in a thousand and one games, except that here they have the shift variation to suit the context of the game: invasion, car race, decryption ... But no sign of the cooperative mode that they announced to us in their day. And attention to a detail that will shock more than one and many others will throw back if they thought to invest hours in multiplayer mode: abruptly leaving online mode, deactivating it or leaving the game, will make your skill tree reset to zero , that is, you lose them suddenly. It is a very tricky measure that I would not rule out that it would be abolished with a later update if users are very dissatisfied.

Watch Dogs

After more than half a year of delay, we can finally taste this promising dish that ventured to be Watch DogsHowever, it has left me a certain bitter taste. It is not a revolution in the genre, although the possibilities of the gameplay, especially with regard to hacking but with its very clear interaction limitations, make the program, in a way, a unique title.

Maybe to Aiden lacks some charisma as the main character and the missions of the plot needed more variety and forcefulness -and I quote again GTA V as the benchmark of the generation in the sandbox field. At a technical level, it is more than obvious that Ubisoft He has returned to do his thing and the multiplayer mode does not contribute much. To put it in one line, Watch Dogs it is a balloon of sensations that deflates too fast.

FINAL NOTE MUNDI VJ 6.5

Well, I recommend you play anyway… it will never beat GTA V but… it's the fifth !!! They've had a whole decade to develop and polish the great game that is GTA.

Wacht Dogs beats the game in terms of interaction, we can do a million more things with our character (Puzzles, platform game, driving, shooting, infiltration and stealth, raising skill levels, hacking, creating objects ...)

You wish that GTA is not shoot and drive, and for the record I love it, the missions and the characters of GTA are a masterpiece, but Wacht Dogs has added many new options to the typical SandBox very to take into account, although they have to improve the driving and AI already !!

so bad as to put a 6'5 I don't think it is, we will have to taste it first; I personally love the sandboxes and of course it does not reach the excellent level of GTA V, but neither Watch Dogs nor any other sandbox, the only one that could overcome it would be the prox. GTA. Salu2 comrades.

A 6,5 is not a penalty or bad game grade. A 6,5 is a score that translates into a good program shooting to remarkable. A bad game is one that has a failure, that is, less than 5 points out of 10. The problem is that the public has become accustomed to inflated grades that respond more to a commercial nature within the marketing apparatus than to the evaluation of the experience per se.

If in an analysis, whatever game it is, you refer to another game, whatever it is, for me that analysis has no validity.
Because what you have to do in an analysis of a game is to focus on it, not on buying it with another game.
Because if we weren't doing a comparison and not an analysis.

Comparisons serve as a guideline aid, which is the purpose of analysis. Doesn't a note serve as a comparative element either? Try to enjoy the game, that sometimes you forget what this is: a hobby to enjoy.

As Rubalcalva's comment says, the comparisons have very practical didactic purposes and can serve to clarify details. If we start with personal assessments of what each thing is for each person or what is worth and what is not according to intimate criteria, we enter an endless and meaningless spiral that leads us nowhere.
