We tested and analyzed the Motorola Moto 360

Last week we had the opportunity to test the Motorcycle 360 by Motorola, possibly the most desired smartwatch on the market and that has an absolutely spectacular design. Before we start this analysis and I also tell you my opinion about this wearable, I think it is fair that I tell you that in general terms it is a smartwatch that I liked very much in terms of design, but that it has disappointed me a lot at the level of software. The battery is something that we will put aside for the moment, because it will have its own space within this article.

The design of this Moto 360 as I was saying is spectacular and surely it is one of the best on the market. In addition, this Motorola watch was one of the first to abandon the rough designs that these types of devices had. Compared to my Samsung Gear Neo 2 we could say that it is like heaven and earth.

With a metallic dial with a large display, combined with a strap made of leather and that can be black or gray give us a great feeling of wearing a normal watch on the wrist.

It is very striking at first sight that the screen is not completely round and is that at the bottom it will appear cut This is where the light sensor is located, essential for the correct functioning of the watch.

All the main features and specifications of this Moto 360

  • Dimensions: 4,6 4,6 cm x x 1,1
  • Weight: 50 grams
  • Display: incorporates a 1,56-inch screen with a resolution of 320 x 290 pixels
  • Processor: OMAP3630
  • RAM memory: 512 mb
  • Internal storage: 4 GB
  • Battery: 320 mAh, although reality has shown that it is only 300 mAh

Regarding software, this Moto 360 has installed inside the Androir Wear, in its version 2.0, which has a very neat interface, but which you have to get used to to be able to handle it quickly and fluently.

The battery, the black point of this Moto 360

The battery is definitely the point where all devices of this type on the market should improve, and that for example in the Motorola smartwatch hardly allows you to use it all day. If it is not permanently connected to the smartphone, the battery can last a little more than a day.

If there is a second version of the Moto 360, it will be necessary for the battery to improve very much, so that it can be a useful and practical device for everyone. And it is that having to charge a device of this type every day, at least for me and surely for many people is something unthinkable and for which it is not willing to go through.

A highlight of this device is that in order to charge it, it has a "dock" that allows wireless charging of the device and makes charging times a bit more comfortable.

Is it worth spending 249 euros on a Moto 360?

In my opinion and being a guy who does not like watches, or having to wear it on his wrist, I think not, but let me explain.

I believe that the Moto 360 does not offer you anything new or that you cannot have on your mobile device, which you should also always carry with you so that the watch works at full capacity.

It is a beautiful accessory that feels very good on the wrist, but I consider that 249 euros is a lot of euros, and to buy it would be a whim more than a need or something that could offer us interesting things. In addition, the problem of the very low battery life, which forces you to charge the wearable every day, would be another of the fundamental points that would lead me to spend a handful of euros on a Motorla smartwatch.

Opinion freely

I have to confess that after having and testing other smartwatches on the market I was burning with the desire to be able to try this Moto 360, and then assess whether to buy it. After a couple of weeks of use I have decided that for the moment I am not going to buy any wearable of this type, and I will not do it until the battery lasts longer since as I said before I am not willing to charge it all days.

Yes, without a doubt this Moto 360 is the best smartwatch I have been able to try and the one with the most elegant design. As some very good friends of mine said a few days ago, this Moto 360 is one-eyed and therefore the king in the land of the blind.

The battery thing is very relative. It usually lasts two days with ease. If I hit him, yes, one day, but without paying attention to him.

Let's see, the screen has environmental and light sensors, something that the LG smartwatch brutally FAILS! I thank Motorola for having this because I spend many hours in meetings and cafes and in the sun with meetings.
