WhatsApp updates have been constant for some time and although it is true that not all these updates bring great improvements to the messaging application par excellence, they are still updates that are surely necessary for the proper functioning of the app. In this case, what this update seems to provide for iOS users is little or nothing if we look at the section where they show us the details of the update, and that is no changes appear compared to the previous version, at least in the text.
This is what they explain to us in the app reviews for version 2.16.18 which is the latest:
- We introduce WhatsApp video calls. With free video calls, you can now talk face to face with your friends and family around the world. There may be charges for the use of the data service. (Requires iOS 8 or later)
- Search for the perfect animated GIF, directly from WhatsApp. Press (+) and choose Reel. The option to search for GIFs is in the lower left.
There are really no changes in the text compared to the previous version, which is 2.16.17, so we deduce that the changes added are rather few or none in terms of the functionality of the app. Without this being the case, these updates are something that major application developers often do to clean up app reviews in online stores from time to time, but we do not believe that this is the case. In any case, the application is updated today and if important or outstanding changes appear in it, we will share them with all of you in this same article.
