Windows 10 is found on 25% of computers

Microsoft

Since the launch of Windows 10, every month the latest version of Windows has been gaining market share, although some months, the increase has been almost flat, but at no time has its market share been reduced. The guys at NetMarkShare share every month the usage statistics of the main operating systems and where for the umpteenth consecutive month Windows 7 is still the king, although every time it reduces its market share, albeit at a slower speed than Microsoft would expect.

According to the latest data, Windows 7 has a 47,2% market share, followed by Windows 10 with a share of 25,3% (one in four computers). In third position we continue to find Windows XP, which there is no way to make it disappear from the market despite repeated attempts by Microsoft leaving it without support for a little over a year. But its excellent performance in old equipment and the expense that it would entail especially for the administrations to change all the equipment that uses it, forced them to hire an extra support that is only given to these companies.

In fourth position we find Windows 8.1 with a 6,9% share, followed by macOS 10.12 with 2,75%. With 2,27% we find Linux, which seems to have recovered some share in recent months. At the moment Microsoft is focusing on the next big update to Windows 10, Creator's Update, an update that will offer us a large number of news and with which Microsoft wants to finish convincing all those users who see how Windows 7 is the only operating system for their computers.

To try to push them a little more to change, Microsoft announced a few weeks ago that Windows 7 was not as secure as Windows 10, a somewhat absurd announcement that seems to come from a schoolyard, since Windows 7 continues to have official support so if it is vulnerable the company can solve those security problems without any problems.
