Xiaomi Mi Band Vs Xiaomi Mi Band 2, a duel with a clear winner

Xioami

Last week Xiaomi officially presented the Xiaomi Mi Band 2, a new version of its popular measuring bracelet that has arrived loaded with news and new functions that have already aroused great interest among users. Once again its main feature is its price and that is that for 20 euros we can buy this device in China. In Spain the price will be somewhat higher, but surely, if we compare it with other devices of this type, it will undoubtedly be laughable.

Today there are many users who wear the first version of the quantifying bracelet from the Chinese manufacturer on our wrist every day, and we wonder if the new version is worth buying. To clear up doubts and answer this question in a simple way, today we wanted to make a confrontation between both devices. If you do not know whether to buy the new Mi Band, keep reading and enjoy it Xiaomi Mi Band Vs Xiaomi Mi Band 2, a duel with a clear winner.

To make this comparison, we are going to break it down into four aspects that we are going to start reviewing right now, but then proclaim a winner of this duel.

Screen, a look with a clear winner

OLED screen

The main attraction of the new Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is undoubtedly its screen, which was not present in the first version, and which will allow us to view our physical activity data at all times, but we will also always have visible the time and the notifications that arrive on our smartphone.

To give details, we will remember that the screen that incorporates this new Xiaomi device is OLED and with a size of 0,42 inches.

Dimensions and weight

Xiaomi

Clearly the differences in design between the Xiaomi Mi Band and the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 reside fundamentally in the presence of a screen in the second version. However, despite what it may seem, the differences are not so many and the general design of the device is still very similar. In addition, the materials used are very similar and plastic continues to be the majority material.

One of the great defects that we could find when we tested the Xiaomi Mi Band was the closure, which was opened too many times, and which unfortunately is still present in this second version of Xiaomi's quantifying bracelet. This small problem was even more present when acquiring replacement bracelets, which in most cases, despite appearing so, were not official.

As for the dimensions and weight, you should not worry too much because they have changed very little with the appearance on the scene of this Xiaomi Mi Band 2. And it is that if in the first version we were with dimensions of 37 x 13,6 x 9,9 millimeters and a weight of 5.5 grams, in this new version we find some dimensions of 40,3 x 15,7 x 10,5 millimeters and a slightly higher weight that rises to 7 grams.

Battery

Xiaomi Mi Band

The original Xiaomi Mi Band offered us a battery of approximately 45 mAh, which allowed us to use it for a month without having to charge it. This was one of the features most applauded by users, which could now be in danger with the arrival of a screen on the Xiaomi Mi Band 2.

As confirmed by the Chinese manufacturer, the second version of the quantifying bracelet has a 70 mAh battery, which means that it is somewhat greater than that of the first version, but at the moment we do not know the autonomy that it can offer us. It is expected that the autonomy of this device is also quite high, although with the screen it is possible that it will not last at least a month.

In this aspect and although it costs us work, because the screen can be something very attractive, we must give the Xiaomi Mi Band as the winner, since not having to worry about charging the device only once a month, was something simply sensational.

Price

One of the great attractions of the Xiaomi Mi Band was its price and is that for a few euros we could have on our wrist an attractive device capable of recording all our physical activity or different data on our hours of sleep. We could say that Xiaomi has done it again And it is that any user can acquire this Xiaomi Mi Band 2 for 20 euros, a lower price than the first version that reached the market with an initial price of 30 euros.

Without a doubt, the price means that any user can purchase this device, even with the first version on their wrist. The y7a screen should be reason enough to make us renew our Xiaomi quantizer bracelet. Of course, it is important to bear in mind that the official price in China is one thing and with which it will arrive in Europe, where it will be sold through third parties, is another thing. Luckily and even with this inconvenience, it is expected that the price of this Xiaomi Mi Band 2 does not exceed 35 euros or what is the same, a real bargain.

Opinion freely

Xiaomi

It has been a long time since I purchased the Xiaomi Mi Band, which you can see on my wrist in the image that appears just above, and although I have not yet gotten rid of it, I have already made the purchase, or for now reserve new Xiaomi Mi Band 2. And it is that For small details this second version of the Xiaomi device improves on the first. The price is also undoubtedly its great attraction and it is that renewing a device that has cost us 100 or 200 euros is a «real pain», but renewing a device that we have bought for 20 euros, having to spend another 30 euros, hurts, but much less.

At the moment I will still have to wait to receive my Xiaomi Mi Band 2, but seen what I have seen, it will not take much to conquer me and without a doubt I am already clear that taking into account all the details, the second version of this Mi Band is the clear winner of the mourning that has occupied us today.

Do you think that the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is the clear winner of the duel with the first version of the Mi Band?. Tell us your opinion in the space reserved for comments on this post or through any of the social networks in which we are present.
