You can now use Alexa as a virtual assistant on your iPhone

Alexa

If you are users of iOS Surely you know that Amazon has an application for this operating system that is usually updated with new functionality quite frequently. On this occasion, with the arrival of its latest update, we have been pleasantly surprised that the company led by Jeff Bezos has decided that it was time to Alexa, your daring personal assistant, is available for this platform.

Personally I have to admit that this has caught my attention since Apple is one of those companies that historically has tried by all means that services that can compete with theirs reach their terminals. Even so, the truth is that with the passage of time it seems that every day they are more permissive and, although there are many users who have not even used Siri, for many others, it is time to see what another class of virtual assistants is capable of.

You can now use Alexa on your iOS device from the Amazon application.

From now Amazon's iPhone app has a kind of microphone on top of it. This, to call it somehow, is the visual symbol that tells us not only that we are up to date, but that we can call Amazon's virtual assistant that will help us make purchases, search for information or, to continue with the example, even get to control smart devices that we can have in our own home.

On the negative side, as expected, everything could not be positive in news like this, telling you that Alexa cannot be used as a replacement for Siri, which, unlike Amazon's software, is fully integrated into the operating system of Apple smartphones, so, every time you want to use Alexa, you will have to open the Amazon application.
