YouTube website starts offering dark mode

Man does not live on mobile devices alone, despite the fact that the latest figures point to it. More and more users are prefer to use their mobile devices to consume content, check their Facebook account, email, watch YouTube videos... Apple added a new function called Night Shift, a way that yellows the screen so that when we use their devices with low ambient light they do not end up hurting our eyes, but it is still a trick that ends up distorting the content we are watching and that not everyone likes.

The dark mode, however, is a trend that developers are gradually adopting. More and more applications allow us to enable this mode to make regular use of the application, a mode that allows us to enjoy our device practically in the dark. If we usually use our computer to check Facebook, email or YouTube videos in these conditions, we end up with an impressive eye pain.

To try to fix this problem, YouTube ends and implement a dark mode for its website, a dark mode that changes the color white to black, so that we will be able to enjoy the best video platform completely in the dark. Our current iPhone partner, Luis del Barco, is one of the lucky ones who can already enjoy it, since it is not yet available to everyone.

This change may be the beginning of the change in the YouTube application, an application for mobile devices that offers us a rather annoying white background when there is little light around us. But in addition, this change would also affect the consumption of OLED screens, since the black color does not illuminate the pixels, so using a dark color as a background, the battery of our device would increase.
