Why not bring a lot of Xiaomi from China and sell them in Spain with another brand and for three times their value? That's what Unai, and his Chinese partner Eric, must have thought. These two Extremadurans (one of Chinese origin apparently) presented themselves as the new Apple in Spain, an Extremaduran product with a bitten acorn that promised the best mobile devices at the best price. However, the dream was cut short when in Forumcoches they activated investigation mode. After a few weeks of breaking the news and the Zetta Smartphone team having toured the media throughout Extremadura, the first hare jumps out, really the team of Zetta Smartphone was dedicated to highlighting Xiaomi devices which imported from China with large stock. This is the true story behind Zetta, the Spanish Apple.
Eric and Unai supposedly promised them, according to the interviews they gave to the media, traveling to China they realized that there they could get the necessary parts to assemble in Extremadura, with a totally Iberian design, the smartphone of the future. Nothing is further from the truth, the phones are entirely manufactured and assembled in China. In fact, the team of Zetta was quick to show photos of his production line, which really belonged to Garmin, the company specialized in GPS devices.

They were really limited to acquiring fully assembled devices from Chinese suppliers. Once they arrived in Spain, the national assembly sHe limited himself to sticking stickers with his "logo" on the battery and the case. Making sure that all the logos of the real companies from which they acquired the devices were strategically invisible. They did this with Chinese companies without import permission to Europe, such as Xiaomi.
Then, they modified Cyanogen or the ROM in question for each device, to add the Zetta logos, thus saying that the devices were designed in both software and hardware, in Spain. Immediately afterwards, without complicating the statistics much, they doubled the import cost, and they went out to the Iberian market.

The partner of Zetta Smartphone strutted through the national media, assuring that they manufactured the devices in the municipality of Zafra, where they don't really give a job to absolutely anyone, nothing but themselves. They promised to be the original authors of both the external design of the hardware, as well as the software of the device itself, ensuring that they constantly traveled to China to contact suppliers, a story that is not supported at all.
But it went much further, according to the information (not yet verified), the Zetta Smartphone team could have taken advantage of certain entrepreneurship grants from the Junta de Extremadura.

It is not the first time this happens
Bringing devices from China and highlighting them as a Spanish product is something that BQ itself did in the beginning. The business of bringing devices that really cost little money outside of Spain and selling them in the national market with the benefits that this implies is succulent. However, BQ knew how to grow and offers a SAT at the level of the national market, this is not the case with Zetta SmartPhone, a company that seems to have disappeared from the networks.
