Hoover H-Purifier 700, review of this large air purifier

Air purifiers are a product that is becoming more and more popular, especially at this time when pollen becomes the number one enemy of allergic citizens. The same happens when we talk about large cities, where pollution can produce levels of gases in homes that are not suitable for day to day and can cause diseases.

We have recently analyzed alternatives in Actualidad Gadget, and today we bring the Hoover H-Purifier 700, an air purifier with a large size and that includes a humidifier among other advantages. Discover with us its highlights, and of course also its weaknesses.

Materials and design

Hoover is a traditional firm, which you will rather remember for its great successes with vacuum cleaners in the past. Currently its range of products has been highly renewed, among them we find the H Purifier, quite an interesting vertical and quasi-cylindrical air purifier. The lower area is for the filter suction grille in silver color, being plastic. The same happens with the upper part, white plastic where we find two retractable handles for transport, details of the operation and the upper area, where the magic happens.

  • Colors: Silver / Silver + White
  • Weight: 9,6 Kg
  • Size: 745 * 317 * 280

This upper area has the purified air outlet grille and a control panel with a circular LED that will indicate the status. We have various functionalities in this touch panel that we will talk about later. The rear is left with a projection and the filter cover. When removing it, we will find a cable collection system that is also quite appreciated, although yes, we have missed a considerably larger cable taking into account the type of product we are dealing with. As it has an automatic reel, the cable cannot be replaced by a longer one.

Technical characteristics and filtering

This Hoover H-Purifier 700 features WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity in a combined way for use through the application, something that is surprising due to its versatility. It also has an alert sensor for high rates of carbon dioxide, as well as a temperature and humidity sensor, something that is appreciated considering the location of the product and how important this type of data is in daily use. On the other hand, we also have a 2,5 and 10 nm particle sensor. Personally, I think the PM 2,5 would have been enough.

At the top we have the display that will inform us of the air quality in real time. We have alerts for filter maintenance, which we will discuss below. We have three layers of filtration with a washable external filter, a Hera H13 filter and an active carbon filter that will allow us to proceed with the inactivation of pollen, especially interesting for allergy sufferers. Thus, this device is theoretically suitable for spaces up to 110 meters, we have tested it in spaces of approximately 55 square meters. It has VOC elimination and the maximum of purified cubic meters per hour will be 330, eliminating 99,97% of fine particles.

Use and modes

The Hoover H-Purifier 700, which you can buy on Amazon, It has three basic modes: Night, Auto and Maximum, which will be configured through the touch panel and through the application. Nevertheless, We will also have a humidifier and an aroma diffuser, which we can complement with the products included in the package. It is an interesting addition to the humidifier that is not so present in many high-end air purifiers, so it is an extra.

For its part, through the application we can configure the H-Purifier to use it through two very popular virtual assistants, we talk about Amazon's Alexa and Google Assistant. In both cases, it will be integrated into our list of devices and will allow us to turn the device on and off at will, as well as program the operation beyond the application provided by Hoover himself. The application can be improved, it has a user interface that reminds us a lot of that of other highlighted products of Asian origin, however, it does what it promises.

Additions and editor's opinion

We have in the H-Purifier 700 the H-Essence range, which is a series of small bottles of essential oils that will be placed directly, with the bottle in the dispenser. This means that in theory we can only use Hoover essential oils since the bottle fits into the device. However, the reality is that you can fill this bottle if you wish with third-party essential oils, something I recommend to save costs. This is not the case with the filter, which seems to be completely proprietary, but we do not advise scratching either, especially in this case because the price is affordable compared to the rivals on the market. We also have H-Biotics, a range of disinfectant and probiotic elements that are introduced into the dispenser.

The air flow is theoretically 360º, however, the sensors have given me slightly different ratings than other relatively higher-end products. The purified air pipe does not seem as powerful as expected from a product that promises up to 300 cubic meters per hour, in addition, this will significantly impair the silence, which at low speeds is acceptable, but in night mode it is not as much as it is. I expected. For people with difficulty sleeping noisy, the H-Purifier will need to be turned off. This has been our experience with the H-Purifier 700.

This H-Purifier offers us an alternative at a not too high cost, which has not spared in additions such as the humidifier, the sensors or the dispenser of essences, but in certain details it remains a step below other high-end purifiers like Dyson or Philips. However, the price difference is notorious and it even offers us more capacity. The worst thing in our experience is the application, at least in its version for iOS. You can get the H-Purifier 700 from 479 euros on Amazon.
