Our computer will never really be able to know when we have left it alone for a moment, although we as users of it, if we could come to suggest a period of time, which would have to coincide approximately, with what we consider "a departure on our part from the team." We had previously suggested an interesting option for place our favorite photos as a presentation of slides on the Windows 7 desktop, an idea that we will now complement with the well-known screensavers.
In a previous article we had also mentioned the most important keyboard shortcuts (or perhaps the most used) by a large number of people in Windows 7; within them, we suggest to those who block our equipment, something that can be achieved with the CTRL + L key combination. What if we make our computer lock automatically by displaying a screensaver?
Preliminary steps to lock Windows 7 with a screensaver
Now, some of the most important functions we can use when customizing Windows 7, are activated directly from the desktop; so for example, in the subject that we are responsible for analyzing (screensavers) we will only need right-click on some empty space on the desktop.
As we can see in the previous image, a large number of options will appear with their contextual menu; from among them, we will have to choose the one who says «customize«.
A new window will open immediately, in which there are different options for our customization of the desktop Windows 7, is coupled to our taste and preference of use. We will have to pay special attention to the bottom, where the option to customize these screensavers (Screen Savers), having to click on said option as we have suggested in the following image.
Windows 7 Advantageously, it offers us some alternatives to reach the same work environment, not being the exception in these screensavers. For example, if the previous procedure has not worked for us or we do not know it widely, then we could opt for another alternative method; in it, we will only have to click the Start Menu Button (or press the Windows key).

Schedule lock in Windows 7 with the screensaver
Well, the first part of our procedure we have already carried out effectively; regardless of the path we have adopted to reach the screensavers in Windows 7, We will immediately jump to a customization window for these elements, something that we can admire in the subsequent image.
There we have a few options to use, being among them:
- The type of screensaver we want to use.
- Choose the screensaver settings to set a password if we wish.
- Set the idle time of the equipment so that the screensaver is activated.
- Jump to the unlock screen when the screensaver is deactivated.
Regarding this last option that we have mentioned, the screensaver will continue to run as long as nobody touches the keyboard or mouse; if we go back to our computer and want to work on it again then we will immediately jump to the login screen in Windows 7, which involves, that we have to write the password with which we configure our computer in the beginning.
This option is very important when it comes to being taken into account, since it is the only way in which we could prevent unauthorized users from accessing the operating system and therefore, the information registered on each of our disks local hard.
In any case, if no one else has access to the computer then you could deactivate this box, so the screensaver will be deactivated once you touch any accessory on the computer (mouse or keyboard), immediately jumping to the desktop of the operating system.
