We could almost assure that the only situation in which we should return to the factory state in the different internet browsers, has to be done the moment we see a strange activity when we browse the web.
This strange activity does not refer to the possibility of a virus infection but rather, to the slowness that our internet browsers could be having due to the load they are suffering in the use of many resources, something that could be directly linked to the plugins and add-ons that we have installed in them. We could also choose to return to the factory state (reset or default) if it has been impossible for us to eliminate some type of complement that you have installed an additional bar in the browser, some of which even we previously talked about a third-party app that unfortunately, you place your options without our authorization.
How to reset Mozilla Firefox
Without having to suggest an order by level of importance or by host, but now we will start with Mozilla Firefox, which is one of the Internet browsers that we could be using at this very moment. If we have noticed that the same it offers us too long a slowness when browsing the web, then the best thing is to try to reset absolutely everything, which could involve, the loss of some installed plugins, saved passwords and even to the same search history. In order to carry out this task we should only follow the following steps:
- We open our Mozilla Firefox browser.
- In the version with classic interface we must select the button Firefox -> Help -> Troubleshooting information.
- In the version with a modern interface we choose the icon Burger -> Help -> Troubleshooting Information.
- A new window will appear.
- There we will have to select the button that says "Reset Firefox".
With this simple procedure, our Internet browser will return to the original state, which involves having to use it completely clean and in the best of cases, with greater speed.

How to reboot Opera
The treatment with Opera is different from what we previously suggested with other Internet browsers; here we do not find an option within the configuration where it can be restored to the default (or factory) configuration, so a purely manual mechanism must be adopted; a suggested method that we could propose is the following:
- Open our file explorer in Windows.
- Make invisible files visible (show hidden files and folders).
- Go to the next location on the hard drive.
- Find and delete the file that says «preferences«.
In order to delete this file, we should have previously closed Opera; When we reopen it, we will notice that the browser suggests certain changes, one of which is to define it as the default within Windows.
Reset Internet Explorer to Default Mode
If we use Internet Explorer and we consider that it is too slow, we may also have to restore it to the factory state or default by Microsoft; With the following steps you could get to carry out this task in a very easy and simple way:
- We open our Internet Explorer browser.
- We select the small gear wheel on the upper right side.
- We chose «Internet Options«.
- From the new window that appears we select the «Advanced Options«.
- We click on the button at the bottom that says «Restore Advanced Settings«.
With all these tips and tricks that we have mentioned, you will have the possibility of resetting each of the Internet browsers to their default or factory state as they are generally defined.
