We recently learned about the use that Jaguar wanted to give to one of the most essential parts of a car's interior: the steering wheel. His idea was embodied in the Sayer concept, a smart steering wheel which accompany the user on all their journeys in an autonomous vehicle.
But here is not everything. And Jaguar goes further by also betting on teaching the general public how it expects the vehicles of the future to be. More specifically of the year 2040, almost nothing. The name of this project is Jaguar FUTURE-TYPE, a vehicle that can accommodate two people inside. Although their positions will be confronted; In other words, it will take maximum care that people have conversation with each other.
As with Mercedes-Benz and its autonomous smart, the smart vision EQ for two, the interior of these cars their fees would increase thanks to the elimination of elements such as steering wheels or driving pedals. However, in the case of Jaguar, the Sayer smart steering wheel will play an important role: it will be our assistant on the road. In addition, all autonomous vehicles will belong to a network of carsharing —Shared vehicles—, so the user will not have any car in his possession; the only part that will be owned will be Sayer's specific unit.
In addition, the Jaguar FUTURE-TYPE may also be human-driven at times, although Jaguar has not provided much detail on this matter. Also, this car, belong to a network of carsharing, will be in direct connection with the entire fleet of vehicles. What will be achieved with this? Well, they can exchange information among themselves and make the carts more efficient environments and, above all, safer for people.
