LCD

La war on screens is still open As in the processors, Samsung will stay exclusively for a little time with the Snapdragon 835, and many other products that the mobile devices that are launched on the market depend on.

All the OLED displays they are the ones that seem to take the first position in the coming years, not because of their quality, but also because of their flexibility, which will give a good number of different devices in all forms. Not only will OLEDs be flexible, but the LCD also.

We have seen this type of flexible screens throughout these past years in different technology fairs, although it is still to be seen. see that device make real use of them. The closest we've seen to that possibility are Samsung's curved AMOLED displays.

Now, JDI has announced a new LCD technology that is flexible and resistant to cracking. You can't buy this type of panel, but you are on the road to reaching your destination sometime in the near future.

The JDI designed display has 5,5 inches in size and it has a resolution of 1080p. It is not its specifications that differentiate it, but rather the other properties of this type of panel that make it special. Full Active Flex uses a plastic substrate for both sides of the liquid crystal layer. With no glass, the screen is resistant to cracking or cracking.

Although, if it is something similar to the Motorola Shatter Shield material, this will get scratches more easily than glass supposedly. JDI says that the displays are capable of a 60Hz full refresh rate, but it can go as low as 15HZ to save power. Production of these combs is expected to begin in 2017.
