Google's new phones will be the Pixel and Pixel XL

Google has finally decided ditch the Nexus brand to complete the Pixel product line with the smartphones made by HTC, which we have known as Marlin and Mailfish, to finally become the Pixel and Pixel XL.

The Pixel will be the Sailfish device of 5 inches while the Pixel XL will be the Marlin of 5,5 inches. Two smartphones that will be presented on October 4 as well as Google Home, the VR DayDream viewer and Chromecast 4k. This news comes from a reliable source and can be added to the one that arrived two days ago in which it was mentioned that Google would get rid of the Nexus brand.

We will see if HTC has been able to manufacture two terminals that will go along with that «Premium» image with which the Pixel brand has been associated. It is also not credible that the Pixel brand, from Google's perspective, has always been seen as the best of the best, so it remains that desired of a Google brand for phones that would be premium at all.

It also doesn't help that the Sailfish has a flair very close to the A9, from what we could understand why these two phones have remained in the Pixel and have not been placed to start something of greater entity with what would have been the Google-branded phones themselves. Regardless, Google is said to be planning to advertise the Pixel and Pixel XL as the first phones created by Google.

Although here we can be a bit surprised, since these two phones the only thing left for them not to be from HTC is that the logo does not appear, otherwise it is clear that it has been manufactured by the Taiwanese brand. What we can say that the brand Nexus is going to die.
