CES 2018 is off to a strong start. Many of the main brands are already present at one of the most important technology fairs in consumer electronics. LG presented its 4K projector and the Taiwanese Acer has the same presenting its renewed laptops for all types of users.
Among the novelties that Acer has shown in Las Vegas we find three models: Acer Swift 7 (ultrabook), Acer Nitro 5 (for gamers) and Acer Chromebook 11 (a model for the field of education or users in mobility). But let's see what each of them has in store for us.
Acer Swift 7, a very slim ultrabook with integrated LTE connection
The first of the models that we want to show you is the model that is reinvented for this season. the Acer Swift 7 was already one of the stars of the last edition of CES. And this year it grows in screen size; add LTE connection and is made thinner for easier transport.
This Acer Swift 7 arrives at 14 inch screen —The previous version was 13,3 inches—, with little frame, IPS technology and a maximum resolution of Full HD. Also, as we told you, this model is very thin, achieving a maximum thickness of 8,98 millimeters and the best thing: its battery will last 10 hours of work, according to the company in its press release.
On the other hand, this Acer Swift is based on Windows 10; your processor is a 7th Gen Intel Core i8 and can hold up to 256GB of RAM and XNUMXGB of storage space on an SSD. This model will be available in Spain from next April at a price of $1.699.
Acer Nitro 5, a new option for the most gamers
In this case we are facing a laptop that does not pretend to be the thinnest of the moment; its intention is to be a mobile solution for those who like video games. This Acer Nitro 5 is a laptop that has a much more standard measurement: 15,6 inches diagonal, with Full HD resolution and IPS technology.
Meanwhile, in this case Acer has not opted for Intel processors, but is betting on AMD. To be more specific, they bet on the Ryzen platform together with a graphics card AMD Radeon RX560. Also, in this case the RAM memory can reach up to 32 GB. While the space for saving files is 512 GB in SSD format.
The Acer Nitro 5 also has a very typical design for this type of notebook: they are not thin, but their chassis is striking. In addition, once opened we find a backlight keyboard that the user can customize to their liking. Don't forget about custom function keys, either. Meanwhile, in the connection section we will have USB-C, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet ports and "Dolby Audio Premium" and "Acer TrueHarmony" audio technology. The price of this model will start from 1.090 euros and will also be available from April.
Acer Chromebook 11, more bets on Google's desktop operating system
While more details about the new platform are known Fuchsia, companies continue to bet on new computers that have Chrome OS installed which, in turn, is compatible with Android apps. The latter has made them a very powerful alternative in homes, schools, or even for mobile workers.
